PARIS, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot on Wednesday described Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir's recent remarks on Gaza as "insupportable and inhumane," according to French daily La Montagne.
"What is happening today in the West Bank is utterly disgraceful and should revolt us all," Barrot said in an interview with La Montagne. "That is why we sanctioned Minister Ben-Gvir, whose recent remarks are insupportable and inhumane," he said.
According to BFM TV, Ben-Gvir said in a podcast released on Saturday that "targeted killings should be carried out every night in Gaza," calling for "30 or 40" people to be killed each night.
On May 23, Barrot announced on social media that Ben-Gvir was banned from entering France with immediate effect. He condemned Ben-Gvir's remarks and actions toward Palestinians as "shocking" and said they incited hatred and violence. ■
