BEIJING, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 jolted Western Caroline Islands, Micronesia at 2253 GMT on Monday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 9.67 degrees north latitude and 138.42 degrees east longitude. ■
