BUDAPEST -- Twelve people were killed and at least 10 others seriously injured after a Polish-registered bus overturned on a motorway in eastern Hungary early Sunday, Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar said.
The crash occurred around an hour after midnight near the town of Mezokeresztes in eastern Hungary as the bus was traveling toward the northeastern city of Nyiregyhaza, police said. (Hungary-Bus Crash)

ATHENS -- Two bodies were found on Sunday during a wildfire-fighting operation on the Greek island of Salamina, Greek national broadcaster ERT reported, citing Fire Service sources.
The bodies, whose identities have not yet been established, were discovered near the area where a wildfire appears to have started around midday in a forested area of Peristeria. A second fire was burning in the Selinia area on the island, near the Greek capital Athens and Piraeus port. (Greece-Wildfire)

MOGADISHU -- Somalia's National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) backed by the international partners killed eight al-Shabaab militants, including three senior commanders, in a targeted operation on Sunday in the central region.
According to a statement released by NISA, the joint operation took place in the Tardo area of the Hiran region and eliminated three high-ranking leaders along with five guarding militiamen, while leaving four others wounded. (Somalia-Al-Shabaab) ■
