BEIJING, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 jolted Papua New Guinea Region at 1059 GMT on Sunday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 124.2 km, was initially determined to be at 5.55 degrees south latitude and 146.72 degrees east longitude. ■
