ISLAMABAD, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan observed its Independence Day on Friday in the capital of Islamabad, with people coming together to share pride in their homeland and look forward to a brighter future ahead.
Pakistan became an independent state on Aug. 14, 1947, following the end of British colonial rule and the partition of the Indian subcontinent.
