MACAO, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- The number of participants and attendees at meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) events in Macao rose 16.0 percent year-on-year to 494,000 in the first half of 2026, according to the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) on Friday.
A total of 918 MICE events were held during the period, broadly unchanged from a year earlier, while MICE-driven receipts of the non-gaming industries increased 44.8 percent year-on-year to about 2.43 billion patacas (about 301 million U.S. dollars).
In the second quarter, 499 MICE events were held, unchanged from a year earlier, with participants and attendees surging 37.6 percent to 314,000, the DSEC said.
MICE-driven receipts in the non-gaming industries reached 1.59 billion patacas in the second quarter, up 54.8 percent year-on-year, driven by more non-local participants and attendees and higher per-capita spending by MICE visitors. ■
