HONG KONG, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- Janice Tse Siu-wa, secretary for constitutional and mainland affairs of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government, said on Friday that the HKSAR government will continue its efforts in collating and analyzing views, striving to publish Hong Kong's first five-year plan within September.
Tse said that the plan was not only an important matter for Hong Kong, but also an integral part of the national 15th Five-Year Plan, serving as a major initiative to integrate into and serve the overall development of the country and a milestone for public administration in Hong Kong.
The public consultation ran from June 15 to Aug. 14, with over 100 consultation sessions organized throughout the period, including about 30 sessions conducted by the HKSAR chief executive himself to listen to views and suggestions from various sectors, Tse noted.
As of Friday, the HKSAR government has received over 16,000 submissions from different sectors, the general public and stakeholders from different backgrounds, who generally agreed that the plan will help Hong Kong better seize opportunities and make deployments, Tse added.
Tse said that the general public and stakeholders have taken the formulation of the plan very seriously and have high confidence in Hong Kong's future, keen to contribute views to jointly outline the blueprint for the next five years and better integrate into and serve the overall national development. ■
