BAGHDAD, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- Three drones were shot down early Friday over Erbil, the capital of Iraq's semi-autonomous Kurdistan region, local authorities said.
The regional Directorate General of Counter Terrorism said in a statement that U.S.-led international coalition forces shot down the drones.
The statement said no casualties were reported.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
Iraq's Kurdistan region has recently seen a rise in drone and missile attacks amid regional tensions linked to the ongoing confrontation between the United States and Iran. ■
