JAKARTA, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia recorded 251 million U.S. dollars in export transactions for micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) through a government program in the first half of 2026, the country's Trade Minister Budi Santoso said Thursday.
Budi said the figure has already surpassed the program's total transaction value of 134.87 million dollars recorded in the entire year of 2025, adding that around 60 to 70 percent of the facilitated MSMEs were first-time exporters.
The initiative aims to provide local small businesses with easier access to international markets and boost the country's exports. Under the program, local MSMEs can present their products online to Indonesia's overseas trade representatives, who then match them with potential foreign buyers. ■
