SINGAPORE, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's non-oil domestic exports (NODX) grew 27.4 percent year-on-year in the second quarter, extending the 9.6 percent growth recorded in the first quarter, Enterprise Singapore said on Tuesday.

Electronic NODX surged 88.1 percent, while non-electronic NODX grew 8 percent.

"For 2026, NODX growth is expected to be supported by electronics amid strong AI-related demand, notwithstanding uncertainties from the Middle East conflicts and renewed U.S. tariff measures," Enterprise Singapore said.

It forecast NODX growth of 14 percent to 16 percent in 2026, reflecting the exceptionally strong performance in the first half of the year. NODX growth is expected to remain supported in the second half, although it is likely to moderate due to high-base effects, it added.

Non-oil re-exports rose 40.1 percent year-on-year in the second quarter, following a 45.4 percent increase in the previous quarter. Growth was driven primarily by electronics.

Total merchandise trade expanded 40.2 percent in the second quarter, while total services trade grew 9.9 percent.
