BUDAPEST, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- World Aquatics on Monday unveiled the full competition schedule for the 2026 World Aquatics Swimming Championships (25m), with the six-day event set to take place at Beijing's National Aquatics Center, better known as the "Water Cube," from December 1 to 6.
Heats will begin at 10 a.m. Beijing time each morning, while semifinals and finals will start at 7 p.m. The evening session on the final day will begin earlier, at 6 p.m.
The six-day championships will feature men's and women's individual and relay events, along with mixed freestyle and medley relays.
"Beijing has a proud history of hosting world-class aquatics events, and we are excited to return to the Water Cube for the World Aquatics Swimming Championships (25m) in December," said World Aquatics President Husain Al Musallam.
The Beijing 2026 organizing committee said preparations are well underway and that it looks forward to welcoming the world's best swimmers to Beijing, the first city to have hosted both the Summer and Winter Olympic Games.
The Water Cube hosted swimming events at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and was later transformed into the "Ice Cube" for curling competitions at Beijing 2022.
World Aquatics said the competition schedule remains subject to change. ■
