BUENOS AIRES, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- Hernan Lopez struck late as Argentinos Juniors extended its perfect start to Argentina's Clausura tournament on Sunday with a 2-1 home win over 10-man Racing Club.
Tomas Molina put the hosts ahead with a ninth-minute strike and the visitors were dealt another blow 11 minutes later when Adrian Martinez was shown a straight red card for a rash challenge on Kevin Gutierrez.
Despite its numerical disadvantage, Racing equalized shortly after through Ezequiel Cannavo, who finished clinically after Alejandro Tello's pass.
Argentinos Juniors attacked relentlessly in search of a winner and Lopez restored his side's lead by lashing the ball past goalkeeper Facundo Cambeses 13 minutes from time.
The Buenos Aires outfit leads Zone B with 12 points from four games, three points clear of second-placed Gimnasia La Plata. Racing is 12th in the 15-team standings with four points.
