YANGON, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- The Shwedagon Pagoda, also known as the Golden Pagoda in Myanmar, attracted over 4.37 million visitors from January to July this year, U Boe Thin, a member of the Shwedagon Pagoda Board of Trustees, told Xinhua on Monday.
During the period, over 46,000 foreign visitors visited the pagoda, with the largest numbers coming from China and Thailand, he said.
The total number of visitors increased from the same period last year, when more than 4.11 million visitors were recorded, he added. ■
