JERUSALEM, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- Israeli Premier League club Bnei Herzliya announced Friday the signing of American forward-center Nathan Knight, a former NBA player who won the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) championship with the Zhejiang Lions last year.
The 28-year-old played college basketball at William & Mary before appearing in 108 NBA regular-season games for the Atlanta Hawks and Minnesota Timberwolves between 2020 and 2023.
He averaged 3.7 points, 2 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game, while also making eight playoff appearances, including the 2021 Eastern Conference Finals, where the Hawks lost the series 4-2 to the Milwaukee Bucks.
Knight enjoyed a successful season in China, averaging 11.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 46 regular-season games.
He helped the Lions finish atop the regular-season standings before capturing the league title with a 4-2 finals victory over the Beijing Ducks.
Last season, Knight played for the Goyang Sono Skygunners in South Korea, helping the club reach the Korean Basketball League Finals, where it lost to the Busan KCC Egis.
Herzliya head coach Yehu Orland described Knight as a versatile frontcourt player with strong defensive and offensive abilities and an excellent rebounding presence.
"He joins us after excellent years in Asia with championship-caliber teams and an impressive NBA resume," Orland said. "We hope that together we will show he belongs at the highest level and achieve significant success in both the Israeli league and European competition." ■
