NEW DELHI, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- Six members of a family, including two infants and two women, died when their house collapsed amid incessant rains in India's northern state of Uttar Pradesh, local police confirmed on Thursday.
The incident was reported from the state's Pratapgarh district during the early hours of the day. All the victims were asleep when the house collapsed, burying them alive, said the police.
The house was said to be over 80 years old, and in a dilapidated condition. ■
