HONG KONG, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 jolted South of Kermadec Islands at 0743 GMT on Wednesday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 156.6 km, was initially determined to be at 33.93 degrees south latitude and 179.94 degrees east longitude. ■
