LOS ANGELES, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said Tuesday it had presented to the county District Attorney's Office the case of an armed man arrested at U.S. President Donald Trump's golf club in the coastal city of Rancho Palos Verdes.

The disclosure came hours before Trump was scheduled to attend a Republican National Committee (RNC) fundraising dinner at the club.

Deputies were called to the property at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday local time (1930 GMT) after federal agents reported a suspicious individual, the department said.

The man was taking photographs and videos while walking on the grounds, according to the department. It said he appeared to be monitoring security-planning activities.

Deputies identified him as Jeanine John Taele, 38, and found a magazine containing hollow-point ammunition in his pocket. They searched his vehicle and recovered a loaded pistol with a round chambered and a second loaded magazine, according to the department.

The man was booked on suspicion of carrying a concealed firearm and possession of armor-piercing or prohibited ammunition, the department said. County jail records listed him Tuesday as being held without bail.

Sheriff's detectives assigned to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Joint Terrorism Task Force served a search warrant at his home on Monday, the department said. Investigators recovered a rifle the department described as illegally modified, a pistol, body armor, high-capacity magazines, pistol and rifle ammunition and multiple notebooks.

The notebooks contained statements the department described as concerning. It released no details.

Deputies also learned Taele was under investigation by police in El Segundo, another city in Los Angeles County, on suspicion of robbery, the department said.
