PHNOM PENH, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- A drug suspect detonated a grenade on Wednesday, killing himself and five local security officials in western Cambodia's Pursat province following a domestic violence dispute, according to a preliminary police report.
The deadly blast occurred Wednesday afternoon in Veal Veng district's O'som commune.
Authorities had arrived at the scene in response to an emergency call when the suspect threatened them and triggered the explosive device, the report said.
The deceased include the suspect, the commune police chief, a commune police officer, and three village security officers, the report said, adding that another village security officer was severely injured.
Local authorities are currently investigating the incident. ■
