SANTIAGO, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- Colo-Colo has completed the signing of Cabo Verde international goalkeeper Vozinha for the rest of Chile's 2026 domestic season, the club said on Monday.
The 40-year-old passed a medical before concluding paperwork at Colo-Colo's Santiago headquarters.
"Together with our president, Anibal Mosa, Vozinha signed his contract and officially became a new Colo-Colo player. Welcome to the Colo-Colo family," the club said in a social media post.
Vozinha arrived as a free agent after parting ways with Portuguese second-division side Chaves in June.
Colo-Colo did not provide details of the deal but local media reported it would initially run until December, with the option to extend for another year.
Vozinha was one of the standout players of the World Cup in June and July, helping Cabo Verde reach the knockout stage at its first appearance at the tournament.
The African team's run ended in the round of 32, when it pushed Argentina to extra time before falling 3-2.
Vozinha kept a clean sheet in his team's opening draw with eventual champion Spain before repeating the feat in the final group stage match against Saudi Arabia.
His move to Colo-Colo was announced last week but was delayed by visa problems and personal issues.
Colo-Colo is currently top of Chile's top-flight standings as it seeks a 35th league title. ■
