Israel was kept in the dark for hours after U.S. President Donald Trump canceled a planned joint strike on Iran, with senior officials learning of the decision from his social media posts, Israel's Channel 12 reported on Monday.
The operation had been planned for Saturday, the report said, citing senior Israeli officials.
"Trump left us in the dark," one official was quoted as saying. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Israel Katz and other officials had to rely on Trump's Truth Social posts for updates from Washington.
Israeli officials initially suspected the cancellation announcement was intended to lower Iran's guard, but Washington later confirmed that the strike had been called off.
Trump said on Saturday that he had agreed to suspend planned strikes to allow time for a deal, saying Iran had requested a pause. An Iranian military official rejected the claim on Sunday as "a new lie" and said the country's forces were prepared for any scenario.
U.S. media had previously reported that Trump was considering strikes on Iranian energy facilities.
