CHANGSHA, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- Four people were killed and two others injured after a fire broke out at an apartment building in Changsha, capital of central China's Hunan Province, on Saturday, local firefighting authorities said on Sunday.
The blaze erupted at 3:54 a.m. Saturday. Firefighters rescued the six people from the high-rise residential building and sent them to hospital for treatment. Four of them later died despite medical efforts as of 4 p.m. Sunday, while the remaining two are still receiving medical treatment.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is currently underway. ■
