
Amid controversy and scrutiny at home and abroad, Japan convened the first meeting of its National Intelligence Council on Friday and formally launched its secretariat, the national intelligence bureau.
A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson pointed out that Japan's intelligence agencies historically paved the way for its full-scale pursuit of militarism and the launch of wars of aggression, which led to innumerable crimes against its Asian neighbors and Japan's own people.
