BEIJING, July 31 (Xinhua) -- China urges the United States to immediately stop threatening the use of force against Cuba and any form of unilateral sanctions on the country, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said on Friday, in response to media reports that the U.S. is planning military operations against Cuba.
Spokesperson Mao Ning said China has noted relevant reports and has clearly stated its position on relevant issues on multiple occasions.
"China will continue firmly supporting Cuba in defending its national sovereignty and opposing external interference, and will work with all sides to safeguard international fairness and justice," Mao added. ■
