BEIJING, July 31 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 jolted Western Caroline Islands, Micronesia at 1756 GMT on Thursday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 74 km, was initially determined to be at 11.61 degrees north latitude and 139.12 degrees east longitude. ■
