HONG KONG, July 31 (Xinhua) -- Average daily turnover of Hong Kong's stock market stood at a record 319.1 billion Hong Kong dollars (about 40.69 billion U.S. dollars) in June, pointing to higher market liquidity, data from the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) of Hong Kong showed.
Average daily turnover in the first half of this year hit 283 billion Hong Kong dollars, up 13 percent from a year earlier, said a Thursday report from the SFC.
This was supported by the brisk exchange-traded products (ETPs) market in Hong Kong, with the average daily trading of ETPs soaring 32 percent year on year, said the SFC.
Southbound trading through Shanghai-Hong Kong and Shenzhen-Hong Kong stock connects had broken a record with a 34-month streak of net buying by the end of June, the data showed. ■
