GAZA, July 30 (Xinhua) -- Four Palestinians, including two children, were killed by Israeli fire on Thursday, while medical officials warned of a worsening health and humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
Local medical and civil defense sources said one Palestinian was killed and at least 10 others wounded after an Israeli drone struck a bicycle near Yarmouk Stadium in central Gaza City.
In separate incidents, one person and a child were killed in an airstrike on a tent sheltering displaced people in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis, while another child was killed in a strike on an apartment building in the Al-Bureij refugee camp.
Several other people were wounded in additional strikes in Gaza City, according to the sources.
Local sources also reported that Israeli artillery targeted areas in Rafah and Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, as well as the Shuja'iyya and Al-Tuffah neighborhoods east of Gaza City.
The Israeli military has not commented on the reported strikes.
Separately, Hamas on Thursday condemned the Israeli airstrikes as a "deliberate violation" of the ceasefire agreement, accusing Israel of continuing attacks against civilians and calling on mediators and guarantors to pressure Israel to comply with the deal
Gaza-based health authorities said hospitals in the enclave had received the bodies of six people killed and treated 34 wounded over the past 24 hours. They said Israeli attacks since the ceasefire took effect in October 2025 had killed 1,214 people, bringing the overall death toll in Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023, to 73,341.
Medical officials also warned of a worsening humanitarian situation in the enclave, citing severe shortages of medicines, medical supplies, food and water, deteriorating sanitation conditions, and mounting pressure on the already strained health system. ■
