BEIJING, July 30 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 jolted south of Tonga at 1707 GMT on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 24.70 degrees south latitude and 175.29 degrees west longitude. ■
