MANILA, July 30 (Xinhua) -- A 38-year-old teacher was shot dead by an unidentified gunman in Bulacan province in the northern Philippines on Thursday, according to local authorities.
Police said the victim was attacked outside his home at 3 a.m. local time and was taken to the hospital after sustaining a gunshot wound to the chest, but later died despite undergoing surgery.
Authorities said the suspect fled the scene and remains at large. Police are investigating the incident and working to identify and arrest the gunman. ■
