SYDNEY, July 30 (Xinhua) -- Three people were found dead after a house in Sydney's southwest suburbs was completely destroyed by fire on Wednesday night.
A police statement said that emergency services were called to the fire in Wiley Park, 15 km southwest of central Sydney, around 9:45 p.m. local time on Wednesday.
Fire and rescue crews extinguished the blaze and located the bodies of three people, who have not been identified, during a search of the home.
Jeremy Fewtrell, the fire and rescue commissioner in the state of New South Wales, told reporters at the scene that first responders had encountered a very challenging scene and that the residence was completely destroyed by the fire.
A crime scene has been established at the property and police and fire crews have commenced an investigation into the cause of the fire. ■
