NEW YORK, July 29 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar weakened in late trading on Wednesday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, fell 0.52 percent to 100.886 at 3 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro rose to 1.1452 dollars from 1.1387 dollars in the previous session and the British pound was up to 1.3364 dollars from 1.3289 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 163.32 Japanese yen, lower than 163.86 Japanese yen in the previous session. The U.S. dollar decreased to 0.8149 Swiss francs from 0.8190 Swiss francs, and it was down to 1.4040 Canadian dollars from 1.4105 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar lost to 9.6434 Swedish kronor from 9.6954 Swedish kronor. ■
