OUAGADOUGOU, July 30 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese agricultural technical assistance team to Burkina Faso has recently provided practical farming training and donated agricultural supplies to young participants attending an international cultural exchange and community service camp.
The event was held on Tuesday in Kindi, a commune in Burkina Faso's Nando Region, at the invitation of the Burkinabe Federation of UNESCO Associations, Centers and Clubs (FBACU).
About 100 Burkinabe secondary school and university students participated in the International Camp for Cultural Exchange, Reforestation, and Community Action.
They received hands-on training from Chinese agricultural experts in vegetable cultivation, crop management, and other modern farming techniques. The team also donated vegetable seeds and farming equipment to FBACU to support the organization's agricultural activities.
Hu Yuzhou, head of the Chinese agricultural technical assistance team, said the team was pleased to share China's agricultural expertise with the campers and commended the participants for their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn.
Ahmed Sidiki Diallo, national coordinator of the UNESCO Associated Schools Network under the Burkina Faso National Commission for UNESCO, commended the Chinese agricultural experts for sharing their agricultural knowledge with the participants.
"Given China's expertise in agriculture, we invited the Chinese agricultural technical team to help enhance the participants' practical skills," he said.
The camp, running from July 24 to Aug. 2, also features training on conflict management and climate change, as well as activities including reforestation, community service, cultural exchange, and study tours. ■
