BEIJING, July 29 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 jolted New Ireland Region, Papua New Guinea at 2027 GMT on Tuesday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 5.77 degrees south latitude and 153.56 degrees east longitude. ■
