KATHMANDU, July 29 (Xinhua) -- Three people, including a 12-year-old boy, were killed on Wednesday morning after an overspeeding truck struck pedestrians and a cyclist in Kapilvastu district, Lumbini Province in southern Nepal.
According to police, all three victims died at the spot after the loaded truck hit them. Following the fatal accident, angry locals staged protests and temporarily blocked traffic in the area.
Police have arrested the truck driver and initiated the necessary legal actions. ■
