RIO DE JANEIRO, July 25 (Xinhua) -- Neymar scored twice as Santos salvaged a 2-2 home draw with Chapecoense in Brazil's Serie A on Saturday.
Playing his first game since Brazil's elimination to Norway in the World Cup round of 16, Neymar opened the scoring with a first-time shot into the far corner following a slick exchange with Alvaro Barreal.
Marcinho equalized just after halftime before Joao Ananias gifted the visitors the lead by turning the ball into his own net.
Neymar put his side back on level terms in the 89th minute, converting a penalty after Gustavo Caballero was brought down by Bruno Matias.
The result leaves Santos 14th in the 20-team standings with 22 points, 12 ahead of last-placed Chapecoense.
In Curitiba, goals either side of halftime from Leozinho and Kevin Viveros gave Athletico Paranaense a 2-0 home win over Internacional.
Paranaense is third with 36 points while Internacional is 15th, 15 points further back.
In Saturday's only other fixture, Andres Gomez cancelled out Igor Formiga's first-half goal as Vasco da Gama earned a 1-1 home draw with Mirassol. ■
