DAMASCUS, July 25 (Xinhua) -- At least 19 people were killed and 27 others injured in a collision involving two passenger buses on the Damascus-Deir al-Zour highway in central Syria on Saturday, state-run Al-Ikhbariya television reported.
The collision occurred between the areas of al-Sukhna and Palmyra in the eastern countryside of Homs province, according to Al-Ikhbariya.
The reported casualties were preliminary, and further details about the cause of the collision were not immediately available. ■
