BOGOTA, July 23 (Xinhua) -- The Colombian Football Federation said Thursday it renewed the contract of national team manager Nestor Lorenzo for another four years.
The announcement came after Lorenzo led Colombia to the World Cup round of 16, where it was eliminated by Switzerland earlier this month.
In a statement, the federation said the decision reaffirmed its support for the "technical process" led by the Argentine.
Lorenzo has guided Colombia to 31 wins, 12 draws and eight losses since taking charge in 2022.
In 2024, Colombia finished runner-up at the Copa America in the United States, part of a run that saw the team go 28 games without defeat. ■
