PHNOM PENH, July 24 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia raided 737 online scam centers nationwide between June 2025 and June 2026, according to a government press release issued Friday.
It revealed that authorities inspected 28,512 locations, uncovering illegal online scam operations at 665 sites, the statement said.
Furthermore, inspections across the kingdom's 195 licensed casinos exposed 72 facilities involved in online fraud, it added.
"As of June 30, 2026, 21,102 foreigners of 38 nationalities had been deported from Cambodia," the statement said.
Law enforcement officials forwarded 268 cases to the court system, involving a total of 2,773 suspects.
The Southeast Asian country has launched an unprecedented nationwide crackdown on cyber scam networks to maintain public safety and restore the kingdom's international image.
In April, the kingdom promulgated a law on combating online scams, which stipulates harsh punishments for online bosses and ringleaders. ■
