KABUL, July 23 (Xinhua) -- A cyclist was killed and three others sustained injuries after a car struck a bicycle in Afghanistan's eastern Parwan province on Wednesday evening, provincial police spokesman Fazal Rahim Muskinyar said Thursday.
Blaming reckless driving for the deadly mishap, the official added that the driver's carelessness outside Parwan's provincial capital, Charikar, resulted in the cyclist's death at the scene and injuries to three others, one in critical condition.
Without providing further details, the official urged motorists to respect traffic rules and regulations, which are part of the law, to avoid road accidents and save travelers' lives. ■
