HARARE, July 22 (Xinhua) -- Senior officials from the China National Aero-Technology Import and Export Corporation (CATIC) and Zimbabwean finance authorities met on Wednesday to discuss deepening cooperation in the aviation sector.
According to the Zimbabwean Ministry of Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion, CATIC representatives met with Zimbabwean Minister of Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion Mthuli Ncube in Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe, to discuss enhancing practical cooperation between the two sides and building on a partnership that has grown steadily over the past four decades.
The ministry said the engagement reflects a shared commitment to advancing technological innovation, deepening institutional partnerships and supporting national development priorities.
According to the ministry, cooperation between CATIC and the Zimbabwean government dates back to 1987. In 1992, the company established a representative office in Zimbabwe, which has remained operational for more than 30 years, reflecting its long-term commitment to the country's aviation development.
Over the years, CATIC has made significant contributions to Zimbabwe's civil aviation sector, helping enhance the national airline's operational capacity and regional connectivity, the ministry said. ■
