TOKYO, July 22 (Xinhua) -- Four bodies were recovered after an overnight fire engulfed a two-story wooden house near Tokyo, local media reported Wednesday.
At around 12:05 a.m. local time Wednesday, a neighbor made an emergency call reporting the fire in Yachimata, Chiba Prefecture, which was extinguished about three and a half hours later, Kyodo News reported.
The four bodies, all believed to be adults, were found in the kitchen, a western-style room and a hallway on the first floor of the house, the report said, citing the police and fire department.
A neighbor in his 70s said four people, including an elderly couple, lived in the house, the report said. ■
