JAKARTA, July 22 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian government is developing 93 hydrogen ecosystem projects across the country with a potential investment value of 32 trillion rupiah (about 2 billion U.S. dollars), an official said Tuesday.

Eniya Listiani Dewi, director general of new, renewable energy and energy conservation at Indonesia's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, said the projects were aimed at reducing Indonesia's dependence on fossil fuels while supporting the development of a national hydrogen ecosystem.

She said several of the hydrogen projects would form part of the government's diesel replacement program in remote areas.

Dewi expressed the hope that some of the 93 hydrogen projects would reach commercial operation by 2027.
