KUWAIT CITY, July 22 (Xinhua) -- Kuwait said on Wednesday that its air defense systems were intercepting drones after explosions were heard in parts of the country.
In a statement posted on X, the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces said air defense units were "currently responding to hostile drone threats."
The military said any explosions heard were "the result of air defense systems intercepting hostile targets," urging the public to follow safety and security instructions issued by the relevant authorities.
The statement did not provide details on the number of drones involved, their origin, or whether the attacks caused casualties or damage. ■
