MANAMA, July 21 (Xinhua) -- The General Command of the Bahrain Defense Force said on Tuesday that its air defense systems intercepted several Iranian aerial attacks on the country.
In a statement, the General Command accused Iran of continuing what it described as a "systematic hostile approach" through "unlawful attacks targeting civilians" in the kingdom.
It said all its units remain at the highest levels of readiness, urging the public to exercise caution, avoid approaching any unfamiliar or suspicious objects resulting from the remnants of the attacks, and report them immediately.
The United States has carried out multiple waves of strikes on Iran in the past week, saying the operations were aimed at "degrading Iran's ability to threaten commercial shipping" in the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran has responded by targeting U.S. bases and facilities in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan with missiles and drones. ■
