JERUSALEM, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Israeli military chief Eyal Zamir said Sunday that the military is prepared to immediately resume combat with Iran, according to a statement issued by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
Speaking with senior commanders during a situational assessment in the IDF's West Bank division, Zamir said that the Israeli military is closely monitoring developments in Iran and maintaining a high level of readiness.
He warned that the Israeli military "will act with great determination against anyone who harms us."
Zamir added that alongside maintaining a high level of readiness for multi-front combat, the West Bank sector remains a constant operational focus.
Meanwhile, the IDF said that its air force had intercepted a drone identified in the area of the Israel-Syria border, adding that the origin of the launch was under review. ■
