JERUSALEM, July 18 (Xinhua) -- The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement that it killed several Hezbollah drone operators in southern Lebanon on Saturday.
The IDF said commando soldiers detected a Hezbollah drone in Kfar Tebnit village on the northern fringe of the IDF-held "security zone." The Israeli Air Force then located the drone operators nearby.
Shortly after, the air force struck the militants to eliminate the threat, it said, without disclosing casualty figures.
The IDF claimed Hezbollah's actions violated the ceasefire in Lebanon and vowed to continue countering threats.
The incident came despite the conclusion of a sixth round of U.S.-mediated talks between Israel and Lebanon in Rome on Wednesday aimed at implementing a ceasefire arrangement and resolving border security issues. ■
