MACAO, July 17 (Xinhua) -- The Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) received more than 20.9 million visitor arrivals in the first half (H1) of 2026, up 9.0 percent year-on-year, according to data released by the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) on Friday.
Same-day visitors rose 15.3 percent year-on-year to 12.89 million, while overnight visitors edged up 0.2 percent to 8.05 million, the statistics department said. The average length of stay shortened by 0.1 day to 1.0 day.
The DSEC noted that visitor arrivals from the Chinese mainland increased 11.0 percent year-on-year to more than 15.28 million, while those from Hong Kong and Taiwan rose 0.3 percent and 24.7 percent, respectively.
International visitor arrivals totaled 1.42 million in the first six months, an increase of 6.0 percent from a year earlier. Visitors from Thailand surged by 51.4 percent, while arrivals from India, South Korea, and the United States also grew. ■
