JAKARTA, July 17 (Xinhua) -- Business activity in Indonesia strengthened in the second quarter of 2026, with the weighted net balance rising to 12.97 percent from 10.11 percent in the previous quarter, a central bank survey showed Friday.
Ramdan Denny Prakoso, executive director of Bank Indonesia's communications department, said the improvement was driven by stronger activity in the agriculture, construction, mining, accommodation, and food and beverage sectors.
The expansion was supported by robust demand during religious holidays and the school vacation period, he said.
Capacity utilization also increased to 73.80 percent from 73.33 percent in the first quarter.
"The financial condition of businesses remained sound, supported by healthy liquidity and profitability, as well as continued easy access to credit," Ramdan said.
Business activity is expected to remain positive in the third quarter, with the weighted net balance projected at 11.75 percent, supported by the manufacturing, trade, construction and mining sectors, according to the survey. ■
