MACAO, July 17 (Xinhua) -- An exhibition opened in the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) on Friday, highlighting the city's role in promoting exchanges between Chinese and Western civilizations through its cultural links with the Portuguese-speaking world.
The exhibition, located at the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) Gallery, showcases content from a special section, featuring "a glimpse of Chinese culture," jointly launched in September 2023 by the Macao Daily, a major local newspaper, and Portugal's Global Media Group in its Diario de Noticias newspaper.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Lam Fat Iam, president of the Association of Publication of Cultural Education of Macao, said Macao has prospered through exchanges and flourished through inclusiveness, developing its distinctive character through long-standing interactions between Chinese and Western civilizations.
He added that the exhibition aims to foster greater understanding and communication, enabling visitors to gain a deeper appreciation of the beauty and cultural essence of Chinese culture.
The event is jointly organized by the Macao Daily, Diario de Noticias, and the Association of Publication of Cultural Education of Macao, and will run through Aug. 12. ■
