BEIJING, July 17 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 jolted Southern Mid-Atlantic Ridge at 2002 GMT on Thursday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 14.38 degrees south latitude and 16.7 degrees west longitude. ■
