GAZA, July 16 (Xinhua) -- At least four Palestinians were killed on Thursday in Israeli air and artillery strikes on Gaza City despite an ongoing ceasefire, Palestinian sources said.
Local eyewitnesses told Xinhua that one Palestinian was killed and several others injured when an Israeli drone fired a missile at a tent sheltering displaced families at Gaza's seaport, west of Gaza City. The strike set the tent ablaze and damaged several nearby shelters.
In a separate incident, a Palestinian was killed in Israeli artillery shelling near Dawla Junction in the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, medical sources said.
Israeli forces also advanced overnight in the area and moved the so-called "yellow line" farther west, prompting residents to flee amid fears of further military operations, local sources said.
Later on Thursday, two Palestinians were killed in an Israeli drone strike near Al-Sanafour Junction in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, northeast of Gaza City.
The Israeli military did not immediately comment on the reported incidents.
Separately, the Israel Defense Forces said in a statement on Thursday that it struck the central Gaza Strip on Wednesday and dismantled four weapons storage facilities allegedly belonging to Hamas. ■
